MySocialCloud is a startup that enables users to organize their online life through secure auto-login capabilities, filtering, stream consolidation and bookmarking. Until now only a limited number of users from a few colleges in California had access to the service. But the social startup has managed to attract some big investors. Well known technology investor Jerry Murdock and British business magnet Sir Richard Branson have invested close to $1 million in the upcoming company.
While in Miami celebrating Virgin Atlantic’s 25th anniversary, Sir Richard Branson decided to meet 18 entrepreneurs. Scott and Stacey Ferreira, co-founders of MySocialCloud, applied for the pitch session and were accepted. Their meeting with Sir Branson lasted for an hour instead of 15 minutes. He also introduced the team to Murdock. In less than a month both Branson and Murdock decided to invest in the startup.
Although this makes for an inspiring story, MySocialCloud still has a long way to go. It takes much more than impressive investors for a company to succeed. The site is still in beta stage and requires significant polishing and fine-tuning. That said, as a leading social media service provider, we applaud this new venture and are excited about this new service. Overall, MySocialCloud, so far seems like a winning bet.
